Yale Center for Infectious Diseases

In our Infectious Diseases service, we are dedicated to education, research and clinical care of both inpatients and outpatients. The primary mission of the program is to provide the most technologically advanced, compassionate medical care for patients.

Infectious Diseases staff work to identify, prevent and control infections that may be acquired in the hospital, with the primary goal being patient safety. Staff members also provide training and education to staff, visitors and patients on disease prevention.

Committed to service excellence and maintaining a well-recognized excellence in patient care and medical education, staff members have state-of-the-art clinical expertise and engage in clinically oriented research.

Services

Yale Center for Infectious Diseases provides comprehensive multi-specialty services including general consultative care to patients with known or suspected infectious diseases.

While the program offers consultative and collaborative services, working with referring physicians or groups, staff also acts as the main caregiver for patients in many cases. Care is multidisciplinary, involving skilled nurses, dietitians, social workers and other physicians.

  • Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
